History and Mission

Suburban Cooperative Nursery School, a non-profit, non-denominational school, was formed and incorporated in 1961 by a group of parents who wanted to share and participate in the education of their preschool children. The school is administered by parents, while the curriculum is developed and directed by a teacher degreed and experienced in education. Our teachers participate in continuing education programs sponsored by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. They are trained and certified in First Aid, Infant and Child CPR, Management of Communicable Diseases, and Recognition and Prevention of Child Abuse.

Goals

Our goal is to provide a creative, happy, and safe environment, in which your preschooler can explore, grow, and build self-esteem. We aim to encourage the development of socialization skills through interaction with peers and adults, while learning the rights and limitations of participation in a supervised group. It is our intention to encourage your child to follow directions, express oneself, share with others, and gain self-confidence.

License

In 1981, Suburban Cooperative Nursery School was licensed by the State of Ohio as a childcare facility. Our teacher, room, equipment, and daily program have been inspected and approved by the State. The school does not discriminate against applicants or students on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, or sex.
